What customers are saying about Alaska Power-Vac
Terry and I just realized that your cleaning did have an impact on our air quality at our Valley Recycling location. The duct static pressure is supposed to be bet 1-2 (set point is 1.8) and for the longest time (years) it’s been 0.1 – no air exchange. There’s a story but I won’t tell it here. Well, we’ve noticed more air flow from the ducts in the office and I checked the DSP today and it is 1.3 LIKE IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE. Michael mentioned cleaning up yellow jackets (some kind of bug) around the heating coil, that he spent 5.5 hours on the roof cleaning and I think that did the trick. We sincerely appreciate your service and we will schedule you to clean again in two years!
AK Power Vac was recommended to me by my house inspector last year when he discovered the duct work was not very clean. We purchased the house 2.5 years ago and we immediately had the duct work cleaned by another company. That company got a lot of stuff out of the duct work. I was truly amazed at the stuff that AK Power Vac got out of my ducts after having them cleaned only 2 years prior – things that didn’t belong to us. We suffer with allergies so this was a must. I am thoroughly impressed with their professionalism and knowledge about HVAC systems. Kristi & Daniel were very courteous, friendly and caring. They did a very thorough job and I highly recommend this company for anyone wanting a really thorough and clean job.
Thank you for employing such caring people. Kristi caught a water leak in our crawl space that would have gone unnoticed for months ( until I went down there for Christmas decorations ) it was a significant leak. And Daniel offered ear plugs for my daughter to wear when they started the process. It was so kind of him. I had planned on leaving because I assumed it would be loud, but just offering was so nice. They were just so courteous and mindful of my toddlers. Thank you for making my first experience with having this done a great one. I will recommend you guys to anyone that asks.
Thank you is such a small gesture. I was very pleased with the service from Alaska Power Vac today. The folks from this company were exceptional in their work. They were honest in their quote with the job they did. I had my vent system cleaned, furnace checked, and chimney checked. They helped me understand what they were doing every step of the way. They were patient with me with all the questions I had. They are very knowledgeable in this field of work and are so down to earth. It’s hard to find caring individuals like these. They understood my concerns and treated me like I was “family”. They went above and beyond. I give them 5 stars!
My experience with Alaska Power Vac exceeded my expectations. The office called to confirm the appointment, Curtis showed up on time and explained the process. He also found an existing problem w/my furnace. The duct cleaning has helped with the dust and they also followed up to make sure everything was satisfactory. I found them to be very professional and caring.
When you want your HVAC duct work cleaned you’ve got two choices. You can get a brush pushed through your duct or you can get it power-vacuumed out. We choose the latter as it will save on the banging around inside the ducts. We get ours cleaned out to prevent allergies from kicking in–which can be a miserable experience. Alaska Power-Vac is easy to schedule, and they have a professional, courteous crew. Best of all, it’s affordable and worth not sniffling and sneezing from reactions to allergic reactions to the dust and who-knows-what flying around when we kick on the heat or A/C.
I’ve had Alaska Power Vac clean my heating system three times (once every two years). Each time they have been professional and thorough. They have found minor issues with my heating system while cleaning and corrected the issues for no charge. Highly recommended!
Cleaned the ducts and cleaned the dryer vents. This went very well, they pointed out several issues that needed to be addressed.
Cleaned dryer duct and 19 registers and returns along with the entire furnace. Curtis takes his time to educate you on the many facets of the job. You can rest assured that your ductwork will be as clean as they can be when he leaves.
We contracted for air duct vent cleaning and dryer vent cleaning. Alaska Power-Vac was very smooth and professional.
First of all, I can’t begin to say enough wonderful things about this AWESOME company and the owner, Curtis! We had just bought our house a few weeks ago, and everything needed some maintenance/cleaning. Super friendly, professional, and clean. Laid sheets down as to not damage or dirty our floors, even wiped the floors after he was done! I am beyond impressed at the integrity and honesty from these people. It is SO rare to find anywhere, let alone with a service company for any type of home maintenance or repair. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone and everyone!!! We will use them again and again!
I contacted Alaska Power Vac for an estimate. Anita took the time on the phone to thoroughly explain the process and arranged for Curtis to do a personal estimate. Curtis arrived on time and gave an even more thorough explanation of the entire process, the time involved and what I can expect after the service. I had already researched other companies and decided at the time of estimate to give Alaska Power Vac my business. Curtis and Steve arrived promptly at 9:00am on the appointment date. We handed over our house to Curtis and went for a day drive. We left feeling that the job would be handled well and that we could trust Curtis with our home. Curtis texted us 7.5 hours later stating the job was complete. We returned at 9:00pm to a warm, clean house. There was no dust on furnishings or in the air from the cleaning. The next day, Curtis came back to the house for a final inspection and to get my response. Job well done!!! I would highly recommend Anita and Curtis to anyone in Alaska. They are very professional and have the utmost in integrity. Thank you both.
Alaska Power Vac was very professional and personable on the phone when making appointment for the service. They called me for a reminder the day before, to be sure the appointment would still work for me. When they arrived, they were prompt, explained what they were doing and explained the process when they were finished. Very professional and friendly.
I was very happy with Alaska Power Vac services . I would recommend them highly and will use them again in the future.
They were thorough, professional, expert, friendly, and informative. Their invoice total was about the same as what they estimated on the phone (based on questions about square footage, furnace type, bedrooms, year built, etc). I wasn’t expecting it to cost that much but 3 guys working all day plus expensive equipment: it was a reasonable cost. Also, they gave me the Angie’s List discount. Nice.

The following are some helpful FAQ’s provided by John Hopkins University.
- The virus is not a living organism, but a protein molecule (DNA) covered by a protective layer of lipid (fat), which, when absorbed by the cells of the ocular, nasal or buccal mucosa, changes their genetic code. (mutation) and convert them into aggressor and multiplier cells.
- Since the virus is not a living organism but a protein molecule, it is not killed, but decays on its own. The disintegration time depends on the temperature, humidity and type of material where it lies.
- The virus is very fragile; the only thing that protects it is a thin outer layer of fat. That is why any soap or detergent is the best remedy, because the foam CUTS the FAT (that is why you have to rub so much: for 20 seconds or more, to make a lot of foam). By dissolving the fat layer, the protein molecule disperses and breaks down on its own.
- HEAT melts fat; this is why it is so good to use water above 77 degrees Fahrenheit for washing hands, clothes and everything. In addition, hot water makes more foam and that makes it even more useful.
